Sugar Creek Covered Bridge / Attraction in Illinois
The Sugar Creek Covered Bridge, is the only surviving covered bridge in Sangamon County. It was built to span Sugar Creek near the site where Robert Pulliam built a cabin in about 1817. The 60-foot bridge built in 1880 is the center piece of Pioneer Park, a small park owned by the Chatham Park District. The bridge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
