Chambless General Store / Abandoned Place in California
James Chambless established his first store along the National Old Trails Road in 1920. With realignment of the road and then certification of U.S. 66, he established this store and Chambless Camp. From 1930 to 1960, the complex grew to include a post office, cabins, store and café.
