On the website the owner notes, "I came back to Amarillo somewhere in 2009. I'd been riding motorcycles and started spending time along 6th street in Amarillo, Historic Rt. 66. I fell in love with with the area and some of the best people I'd met riding. Around January 2017 an opportunity came up and I was able to buy a piece of property on 6th street. Our goal was a biker friendly and family friendly Bar and Grill with good home style food and Ice Cold Beer. And that's how The Handle Bar and Grill came to be. I enjoy seeing and spending time with friends that ride and love seeing people have a good time on Rt. 66. I've met people from all over the world at my little stop."
