Dating to 1924 the cafe operate on the main floor but according to local legend, the basement was used for illegal gambling and the upstairs for prostitution. The neon sign out front, still standing, has a cherry which used ruby glass to enhance its red glow. Legend has it that if the cherry was lit, the girls were in.
