Two Cell Jail / Attraction in Illinois
Built in 1906 of dressed stone this two cell jail offers a unique photo opp. On the grounds is memorial to Reverend Christian Christiansen, a Norwegian newspaper editor known for his work in the resistance movement during WWII. He is credited with supplying vital information to the Allies which led to the destruction of a heavy water facility and the crippling of Germany's atomic bomb development program. Christiansen lived in Gardner at the time, and provided vital information about the area as it was his boyhood home.
