Zettler’s Route 66 Store / Closed in Arizona
Zettlers was named after Homer and Marie who opened a bakery in Ash Fork in 1929. For over eighty years it was a bakery, grocery store and meat market although it passed outside the family in 1983. It was closed for two years until being bought by Kirk and Yvette Slack who renovated the place and ran it for a year before placing it for sale when they moved to Hawaii. The new owner is Terry Tapp who, with his son James, runs Top Shop in Phoenix, a high end automobile and antique upholstery business. He plans to reopen the gift shop and possibly expand in the future.
